Our Dogs
The Ladies
Sisters
We acquired three sisters in 2007. Two are black and tan and one is black with a little white on her chest. Each one has their on distinct personality. My husband classified each of the sister’s personalities. His classification is based upon watching them grow and noting the antics and mischief they have gotten into. We wish to express our deep appreciation to Mary Morningstar of Wawatay, Traci Nelson of Sa Nashoba, and Susie Ochsenbein of Himalaya’s Tibetan Mastiffs for all the wonderful help they have given us. It is truly a delightful experience to have other Tibetan Mastiff breeders become mentors and friends.
Wawatay’s Annamikii Denali
Kesang Camp’s Miinga Niiji x Dreamcatchers’ Shyama Star
Annamikii is the mischievous one. She will wrap her paw around our leg as we walk by her, or she will slip up behind us and do it. If we are not paying enough attention to her, she will very gently nip us. She is tall and lanky and loves to show off. She has not met a stranger. Her tail is always wagging like a pompom. She loves to stretch out while gaiting in the ring. We describe her as the cheerleader. Her pedigree is available upon request.
Wawatay’s Ocoee Mishi Makwa
Kesang Camp’s Miinga Niiji x Dreamcatchers’ Shyama Star
Ocoee is sweet and gentle. When she was a puppy, she looked like a big black bear (Mishi Makwa). She is quiet, reserved, and very loving. She loves to sit and watch us. She puts her paw on us to wake us if she needs to go outside during the night. She follows us wherever we go. I lost a solid black 136 lb. wolf dog two years ago that had a small patch of white on his chest similar to Ocoee’s. At times, I think Teton has come back to us through Ocoee. My husband classifies her as the prom queen. Her pedigree is available upon request.
Ch Wawatay’s Sierra Nevada
Kesang Camp’s Miinga Niiji x Dreamcatchers’ Shyama Star
Sierra is our dominant female and an AKC Champion. She is the pack leader. She came into this world feisty and with the pack leader instinct. She has a strong guardian instinct and watchers over the rest of the pack and her family. She is our guardian when we travel. She guards the car and the motel room. She is the first one to explore something new. She is also our most stubborn one. If she decides to have a “Tibetan Moment” she will not corporate at all. She will sit down and refuse to move. I have learned to sit down and ignore her when she is in her “Tibetan Moment”. That little reverse psychology gets her attention. She will come to me and nudge me to pet her. She loves the pool and is always in it. My husband classifies as the chaperone. Her pedigree is available upon request.
Our New Additions
Ch Himalaya’s Apache Eyota Ba’Cho
Ch Paradise Arhat of Himalaya x Stormnangels Dream of Himalaya
Apache’s name translates into Apache, great wolf dog. Apache came to our home in January 2009. She is a lovely girl and quite smart. She is the first Tibetan that I have owned that refused to sleep in a kennel. After four sleepless nights, I let her out of the kennel. To my amazement, she picked a spot in the bedroom to sleep and has never had an accident or chewed any furniture. She continues to sleep there today. Form the first day I brought her home, she would go to the door and bark to let you know she needed to go outside. I entered her into a puppy contest at four months. She took a Group 1 placement. She took a Group 4 placement in a puppy contest at five months. She continues to amaze me at the things she does. Her pedigree is available upon request.
Zuni Lupe Animosh Kachina of Saras
Stormnangels Dragon Himalaya x Queeny of Saras
Zuni’s name translates into Zuni, wolf dog spirit. Zuni came to our home in March of 2009. She is black with white on her chest like Ocoee. She has an incredible sweet personality and can steal your heart in a second. She and Apache have a dislike for a kennel in common. She is my second Tibetan that refused to sleep in a kennel. She too found a spot next to the side of my bed and has never had an accident or chewed furniture. She sleeps there today and lets me know if she needs to go outside during the night. She will make her debut into the show ring this summer or fall. Her pedigree is available upon request.
The Gents
We acquired our first male (Comanche) in early 2008. We acquired Lakota (Comanche’s littermate brother) in late November 2008.
Ch Sa Nashoba’s Comanche Tseena Kenai
Treasure of Saras (Gazer) x Sa Nashoba’s Ayamanatara (Nadia)
Comanche is our AKC Champion golden boy. Tseena is wolf in the Comanche language. He is extremely laid back. He is very smart and grasped the commands of obedience training quickly when he was a puppy. He loves to travel and is the first one in the vehicle. People always ask us what breed of dog is he? He looks so much like his dad, Treasure of Saras (Gazer). He wants to check out everything and everyone when we go somewhere. He is like Annamikii in that he does not know a stranger. He loves to be with the girls at all times. His pedigree is available upon request.
Ch Sa Nashoba’s Cheete Lakota Misun
Treasure of Saras (Gazer) x Sa Nashoba’s Ayamanatara (Nadia).
Lakota’s name translates to Lakota, my little wolf brother. I think of his as Comanche’s little brother. When we first got Lakota, he was smaller than Comanche. However, he is now taller and weighs more than Comanche. Lakota is higher energy than his brother. He plays more with the girls and is the first one to get in to trouble. He loves to play with the girls. He made his debut into the show ring in January and is working on getting his championship. His pedigree is available upon request.
